Small-space buying guide
MEWHAUS GUIDE
Find the right fit for your space.
A useful small piece starts with a clear place and a clear purpose. These checks can help you compare concepts before choosing a manufactured product.
1. Measure the place, not just the wall
Write down the available width, depth and height. Include skirting boards, nearby furniture, power outlets and anything that projects into the space. Mark the proposed footprint on the floor with removable tape or a paper outline.
2. Leave room to use it
Check the movement of doors, drawers and windows. Make sure you can still walk past the piece, pull out nearby seating and reach the objects you plan to keep on it. Choose clearances to suit the people and layout in your home.
3. Match the height to the job
For a bedside or side table, compare the proposed top height with the mattress or seat beside it. For a desktop shelf, check the height above the work surface and whether books or screens will fit. A stool concept should be assessed for its intended seating use only after its construction and safety information are confirmed.
4. Check access and installation
Measure the relevant doorway, stairway or lift before arranging delivery of a manufactured item. For wall-mounted designs, confirm the wall type, suitable fixings, installation method and verified load limits. Do not infer these details from a visualization.
5. Compare the confirmed details
Check the actual material, colour, dimensions, assembly requirements, care instructions and availability. Review the applicable shipping and returns information before placing an order. Product photographs and a sample can help clarify a finish when exact colour matters.
